Complete Lacrosse Gear Bundle Under $300
Everything your player needs to get on the field safely — helmet, stick, pads, gloves, and cleats. Curated for first-year and youth players.
This is the full gear setup I recommend for players in their first one or two seasons of lacrosse, or for parents who want a proven, safe starter kit without overspending on gear a growing player will outgrow. Every item here is NOCSAE certified (where applicable), available from major brands, and available on Amazon Prime.
What is in This Bundle
Helmet: Cascade CS-R (under 12) / Cascade CPV-R (12+)
~$130–175
The helmet is the one item with no budget workaround — and in 2026 the cheapest legitimate certified helmet is the Cascade CS-R at about $130. It’s no consolation prize: EPP liner, a junior 3-bar mask for better vision, and a shell purpose-built for players under 12.
Player 12 or older? The CS-R won’t fit them — they need the Cascade CPV-R (~$175, four shell sizes down to XXS). Yes, that pushes this bundle’s total up. The helmet is still not the place to save.
Stick: STX Stallion 50 (8U–10U) / STX Stallion 200 (12U+)
~$50–55
For a first-year player, a complete stick is the right choice — pre-strung, and priced so it doesn’t sting when the pocket stretches out. Pick by age, because stick length rules change at 12U: the 39″ Stallion 50 is legal through 10U only, while the full-size Stallion 200 covers 12U through high school. Full details in our stick size chart.
Gloves: STX Stallion 75
~$55
STX’s beginner line — lightweight, vented, and built for developing players. The most important thing is fit: the cuff should sit at the wrist and the palm should not bunch. Order two sizes if unsure and return the wrong one.
Arm Pads: Warrior Burn Next
~$35
Warrior’s youth/budget pad — light, low-bulk, and the kind kids actually keep on. Arm pad quality varies less than gloves or helmets, so this is a safe place to stay at the budget end.
Shoulder Pads: STX Stallion 75
~$55
Entry-level shoulder pads do not need to be expensive, but they do need to meet the current NOCSAE heart-protection standard — most leagues now require it. The Stallion 75 does, covers shoulders and chest without restricting the arms, and its straps are simple enough for young players to manage alone.
Cleats: use what you have (year one)
$0–55
Honest budget advice: soccer and football cleats are legal in lacrosse, and for a first-year player they are completely fine. If your player already owns a pair, spend that money on the helmet instead. When they commit to the sport, lacrosse-specific cleats add real lateral support — see our cleats guide for the current verified picks.
Mouthguard
~$15
Required at all levels. The Shock Doctor Gel Max is the standard recommendation — boil-and-bite, fits reliably, available anywhere. One rule people miss: NFHS and NCAA require a mouthguard in a visible colour, so a clear or white one will get flagged. Do not skip this.

Who This Bundle Is For
This bundle is the right call for first-year players (any age), youth players who will outgrow gear within 1-2 seasons, and any situation where budget is the primary constraint. If your player commits past year one, plan to upgrade the stick to a separate shaft and head for season two — and when they turn 12, the CS-R gets replaced by the Cascade CPV-R (the age rules change at 12U, not just the sizes).
