The Mark 2A is the light, attack-leaning head in this group. StringKing designs around stringing flexibility and ground balls rather than raw stiffness, which makes it the pick for a quick-stick player rather than a power shooter.

Why this head, in one paragraph

Weight is felt in the last quarter, not the first. A lighter head is quicker through a dodge and less tiring to carry, and the trade is that it flexes more than a heavier, stiffer head when you lean on a shot.

StringKing says the head has 29 stringing holes to make a precise pocket easier to build.

StringKing says the scoop is shaped to guide ground balls into the pocket.

Note those are the manufacturer’s claims, quoted as
claims. We have not bench-tested this head, and nothing on this page is presented as our own
laboratory measurement.

Buy it if

  • You play attack and value quick hands over shot power
  • You string your own pocket and want options
  • You scoop a lot of ground balls

Look elsewhere if

  • You are a defender or a physical middie, the plastic is not built for that abuse
  • You want the most durable head here, that is the DNA 2.0

Where it sits against the other four

Common questions

Is the Mark 2A only for attack?

It is sold as an attack head and that is where it makes most sense. Attack-leaning midfielders use it too, but a two-way middie taking checks is better served by a stiffer head.

Is it hard to string?

The opposite is the pitch. StringKing built it around a dense stringing-hole pattern specifically so a precise pocket is easier to get right, which helps if you restring yourself.

How does it compare to the Tactik 3?

The Mark 2A is the lighter, attack-specific option. The Tactik 3 is the more forgiving all-round midfield head and the better first serious head.
