The Stallion 1K is STX’s midfield head, and it is the one on this list built for a player who runs the whole field. STX positions it for elite midfielders, which in practice means it is stiff enough to take contact and still shoot.

Why this head, in one paragraph

A midfielder’s head has the hardest job on the field. It has to survive checks on the ride, hold a pocket through transition, and still release cleanly on the run. That is a different requirement from a pure attack head.

STX says the Stallion 1K is made for elite midfield players.

Note those are the manufacturer’s claims, quoted as
claims. We have not bench-tested this head, and nothing on this page is presented as our own
laboratory measurement.

Buy it if

  • You play midfield and go both ways
  • You want one head for transition, riding and shooting
  • You take contact and need the shape to survive it

Look elsewhere if

  • You are a pure attackman chasing shot accuracy, look at the Mirage 3.0
  • You want the lightest head available, that is the Mark 2A

Where it sits against the other four

These are the five heads on our homepage reel. If you are choosing between them, this is the
short version of the whole decision.

Head Position Best for Price
ECD DNA 2.0 Attack and midfield Best for durability $99.99

Common questions

Stallion 1K or Stallion 200?

Different tiers. The 1K is the higher-spec head. The 200 shows up in complete sticks and beginner setups, and you will see it recommended for younger or newer players.

Is it good for defence?

It is a midfield head. Defenders are usually better served by a head designed for a long pole and for checking, not by a two-way midfield shape.

Does it come strung?

No, this listing is the unstrung head. Factor in stringing on top of the price.
